It is considered rude to point your feet at someone. Thais believe that feet are dirty and so in general Thais will sit with their feet either tucked underneath or to the side.

Conversely, the head is considered sacred and must therefore not be touched.

It is customary to remove your shoes before entering a temple and houses.
